Newspaper Home Delivery Operations Coordinators - Part-Time
Michigan.com, a US Today Network Company which prints the USA Today, the Detroit Free Press, and The Detroit News, has openings for Part-time Home Delivery Operations Coordinators.
These positions are based from our Distribution Centers in the metro area. Available locations include Novi, Sterling Heights, Pontiac, Detroit, Taylor.
The work schedule is 24 hours per week Night Shift: Thursday, Friday, Sunday, 12:00 a.m. 8:00 a.m.
Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
The Operations coordinator works under the direction of the Division Manager and is responsible for staging newspapers in the distribution center and delivering them to households in the delivery route area.
Duties include distributing newspaper bundles and advertising inserts from warehouse carts and pallets and staging of these bundles and inserts at individual contractor work stations. Specific responsibilities include utilizing a manifest to identify zoned newspapers, advertising materials and other products; movement of products from carts and pallets and the auditing and staging of these products; and general maintenance of the Distribution Center. Then individual will deliver newspapers to households via route in their personal vehicle.
Assisting in the unloading of 4 wheel carts off trucks.
Safely opening and unloading carts with bundled newspapers/inserts/product.
Moving/pushing loaded carts inside the Distribution Center.
Audit, distribute, stage all scheduled publications to the agents at the Home Delivery Distribution Center.
Identifying and separating zoned products.
Keep work area secure, clean and safe.
Delivers open routes.
Attend and participate in company training programs.
Key Competencies:
Personal computer proficiency including the ability to use tablets to properly record information.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
Ability to adhere to company policies and department standard operating procedures, along with applicable laws and regulations.
Ability to prepare reports accurately and within time deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills. Ability to coordinate several tasks simultaneously within a fast paced environment.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications - Education/
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Distribution center and/or delivery experience preferred
Ability to lift and transport 32 lb. bundles
Ability to adhere to standard safety policies and proper handling of 4 wheel carts.
Excellent attendance record.
Must possess valid driver's license in good standing.
