Safety Analyst

Serves as Systems Safety Manager with full responsibility for assigned tracked, wheeled and related vehicle systems.
Plans, controls and manages the safety effort for assigned equipment from concept through entire life span, including disposal.
Plans, conducts, and formulates studies to improve the safety posture of equipment in the hands of the user.
Performs long range safety studies and participates in technological developmental projects to provide and establish advanced safety evaluation techniques compatible with the state of the art.
Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of tank-automotive vehicle systems and subsystems; maintenance procedures and knowledge of the technical data requirements related to the safety aspects of vehicle design.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops and implements integrated safety management program which address all of the principal elements of a safety program throughout the total system life cycle.
These elements include establishing vehicle safety requirements, establishing the management documents to include the System Safety Management Plan, System Safety Working Group Charter, Hazard Tracking System, establishing contract requirements addressing safety, establishes test and evaluation criteria for safety requirements and performs evaluations of performance with respect to safety.
APPROX-25% Formulates and/or monitors the combined efforts of supporting staff, installations and contractors to ensure optimum safety of assigned equipment.
Reviews and analyzes program accomplishments against safety milestone schedules.
Formulates contractual requirements by preparing scopes of work for the total safety program.
Provides recommendations to Program Managers concerning hardware safety and management requirements, participates in Integrated Process Team activities early in program development to ensure safety is being addressed adequately, visits manufacturing sites to review hardware design from an operational and maintenance perspective, renders technical assistance to the PM and contractors at various stages of development.
Ensures presence of design features in assigned equipment that will give adequate safety performance and dependability.
Provides information concerning field problems encountered and recommends changes which will simplify design and improve safety performance.
APPROX-25% Provides technical assistance to Program Managers concerning life cycle safety requirements.
Participates in identifying and resolving field problems which require accident report review, technical research and investigation of materiel deficiencies and malfunctions.
Recommends interim methods for alleviating conditions in the field and disposition of the defective items.
Reviews engineering change proposals, production waivers and deviations covering assigned material and furnishes concurrence or nonconcurrence based upon safety implications.
APPROX-20% Responsible for review of required operational capability documents, system specifications, serving on source selection boards as an evaluator of safety performance, developing system safety risk assessments for residual hazards and materiel changes.
Renders safety related advice on acquisition plans.
Provides written and oral safety related communication to high level managerial staff within the command, PEOs, higher headquarters, other DoD services and contractors.
APPROX-20% Attends conferences and meetings as a representative of the Safety Office and PM offices concerning assigned vehicle systems to resolve safety related technical deficiencies, determine policy, procedures, breakpoints, achievements, etc.
Maintains contact, through personal visits, telephone and correspondence, with other commands, private industry, other Federal Agencies, various Army Areas, Overseas Theaters and using units to establish, clarify and disseminate information relative to the safety of assigned systems.

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.

Citizenship is required.
Minimum High School Diploma/GED plus 20 years, or an Associate's degree plus 14 years, or a Bachelor's degree 12 yrs, or a Master's degree 10 years' of Military vehicle experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Familiar with systems/subsystems for Ground Combat Vehicles.
Ability to travel to various customer and contractor facilities and test centers (10% Travel).
Desired Skills:
Experience with US Army Ground Combat Vehicle System Electronics Hardware and Software.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
