Position Summary Under supervision of the Information Technology Director, the IT Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining application software utilized in office and departments throughout the City.
In addition, the IT Specialist will support Maintenance and Operations through repair and periodic maintenance assignments.
The IT Specialist will be further assigned with responding to work order requests filed by City employees with the Office of Information Technology commensurate with knowledge and experience level.
The IT Specialist will be required to interact with City employees throughout the organization to provide IT support, including IT project implementation and support, equipment and software training, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
Position Responsibilities Install computer hardware and software to allow workstations to connect to the wide area network.
Install and update software on personal workstations and mobile data computers.
Provide technical assistance and guidance on voice and data issues for end-users.
Troubleshoot and repair personal workstations, mobile data computers, and/or servers.
Troubleshoot basic network issues and effectively communicate those issues to the Information Technology Manager.
Effectively conduct desktop office suite training and technical training for City staff.
Assist with administration of MS Exchange Server (minimally version 2013), Office 365, MS Server (minimally 2012, 2016 and 2019), including Active Directory.
Other related duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely-related field of study with significant computer course work.
Three years of direct experience working with Structured Query Language (SQL), Microsoft Office, Active Directory, DNS, Microsoft Server, and Microsoft Exchange Server, Office 365.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Work experience in a public-sector IT office or department strongly preferred.
Prior work with Tyler Technologies, OnBase, and BS&A systems strongly preferred.
