, you will be an essential frontline member of our transportation team responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods across long distances.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the reputation of our company as a reliable and customer-focused transport service provider.
Key
Responsibilities:
Safe Operation:
Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, to transport freight over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
Delivery Schedule:
Plan routes and adhere to delivery schedules to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries to various destinations as assigned by the dispatcher or transportation manager.
Cargo Handling:
Load and unload freight in a manner that ensures the integrity and safety of the cargo, while also complying with weight distribution regulations.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle, identifying and reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements promptly.
Documentation:
Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and logbooks, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Communication:
Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher and transportation team to provide updates on delivery progress, potential delays, and any operational concerns.
Customer Service:
Demonstrate a professional and courteous attitude towards customers and clients, representing the company in a positive manner during interactions at delivery and pickup points.
Compliance:
Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local transportation regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, including hours of service regulations.
Emergency Response:
Handle any emergency situations that may arise during the journey responsibly, such as accidents, inclement weather, or vehicle breakdowns, following company protocols.
Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driving hours, rest periods, and other required documentation as per regulatory standards.
Requirements:
Valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.
g.
, Class A).
Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents.
Proven experience as an OTR Driver or similar role in the transportation industry.
Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations and hours of service requirements.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Physical fitness and stamina for long-distance driving and manual cargo handling.
Attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
Flexibility to work irregular hours and extended periods away from home base, as per delivery schedules.
